WORLD BOOK DAY

Today is 23rd April and it's a celebration in more than a 100 countries, including Spain. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, it's celebrated on the first Thursday in March.

It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of READING. On this date in 1616, 2 famous writers: Cervantes and Shakespeare  died.

World Book Day was celebrated for the first time on 23rd April 1995.

A nice story by Eileen Browne.

This is Handa. She's from Kenya (Africa). She  puts seven delicious fruits in a basket as presents for her friend Akeyo: a banana, a guava, an orange,a mango, a pineapple, an avocado and a passion fruit. Along the way to Akeyo's village, seven different animals take the fruits: a monkey , an ostrich , a zebra, an elephant, a giraffe, an antelope and a parrot.
