THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE

Here you have two videos of a classical story.
Which version do you prefer: the song or the story?
Write a comment and tell me.

Once upon a time there was a hare and a tortoise. The hare was very, very fast and the tortoise was very, very slow.
One day the hare told everyone that he could run faster than them.
"I'm the fastest animal in the world" he said. "No one can beat me".
"I can" the tortoise said quietly.
"You?" asked the hare. "You can't beat me"
"I think I can" said the tortoise.
"OK. Let's have a race" said the hare.
The next day, all the animals  came to watch the tortoise and the hare race over the hill to the next town. No one could believe that the tortoise could win the race. Tortoise is so slow and hare is so fast. All the animals stared.
The horse started the race.
"On your marks. Get, set, go" she shouted.
The animals started running. The hare ran very, very quickly and was soon on the top of the hill. The tortoise was still at the start.
The hare looked back and search the tortoise.
He laughed very loudly and stopped to have a snap.
First she ate a carrot. The tortoise was still very far away.
Then, he ate another carrot. The tortoise was still far away.
So, he ate more carrots and then fell asleep.
He dreamt by winning the race and eating lots more carrots.
One hour later, he woke up "aaaaahh". He opened his eyes and saw the old tortoise near the finish line.
"Noooo" he shouted. He stood up and ran very, very quickly to try and beat the tortoise, but he was too late. And the tortoise won the race.
"Well done", said the hare to the tortoise, "I'm faster than you, but you beat me"."Thank you" said the tortoise, "but slow and steady win the race".

SUMMER SONG

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime,
Don't know a 'funner' time!
Just let the sunshine shine!
This season's so divine!
Sum-sum-summertime,
Don't know a 'funner' time!
This season's yours and mine!

The one after spring,
The one before fall,
Summer's the season,
I like best of all...
I like to swim,
Come and jump right in,
Watch the plants grow,
Don't think about the snow...
I like the bees,
Pollinating the trees,
I love the summer time...

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

The one after spring,
The one before fall,
Birds are back north,
I can hear them all call,
Every thing's alive,
Like the flying butterflies,
The leaves are glowing green,
Frogs are swimming in the stream,
I'm feeling really great,
The sun's out really late!
I love the summer time...

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

Between spring and fall,
And that's not all,
The hottest days of the year...
When it's summer in places,
North of the equator,
It's winter in the southern hemisphere!
Between spring and fall,
And that's not all,
Longest days of the year...
When it's summer in places,
North of the equator,
It's winter in the southern hemisphere!

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

Do you know what sport this is?
These boys are playing rugby. There are fifteen players on a team. In rugby you can kick the ball, and you can throw the ball backwards. You throw and catch the ball.
You have to run very fast. You kick the ball over the goal to
score points.
This match is in England. Rugby is very popular all over the UK and Ireland. It’s also popular in France, Italy, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Rugby is a very old sport. They first played it nearly 200
years ago here, in Rugby school, in England.
What’s your favourite sport?

SHAPES SONG FOR CHILDREN

There are many kinds of shapes
I see them everywhere
I love circles and rectangles
Triangles and squares

Circles!

When I go walking I see circles
Everywhere I go
A circle is round like a steering wheel
It’s shaped just like an “O”

Like the big bright sun
And a cinnamon bun
And the wheels on a bicycle
Round and round they go

Like a big balloon
Like the big full moon
How many kinds of circles
Do you know?

Squares!

I see squares when we go to town
They’re everywhere you turn
They have four sides of the very same length
Let’s see what we can learn

Like a pizza box
And my toy blocks
Equal sides of 1,2,3,and 4
Like a picture frame
Or a windowpane
A square is just a shape that I adore

Triangles!

Here and there I find triangles
Look around and see
And a triangle has three sides
One and two and three

Like a pizza slice
A piece of pie is nice
How about a great big
Ice cream cone?

Like a volcano
Or the sail on my boat
Or a steeple, or the shape of the roof
That’s on my home

Rectangles!

I share my house
With a lot of rectangles
Let’s just take a look
With two sides long
And two sides short
They’re shaped just like a book

Like my front door
And the rug on my floor
Like a fridge, like a brick
Like a bed, like a stereo

Like a Kleenex box
And my grandfather clock
I see rectangles
Everywhere I go!

There are many kinds of shapes
I see them everywhere
I love circles and rectangles
Triangles and squares.
