STORY: THE ROBBERY ( BS 5 UNIT 3)

On April 1st there is a robbery at the Howard Art Gallery in Liverpool.

At nine o’clock the security guards close the art gallery and go home.

Security Guard 1: Good night, Bill.
Security Guard 2:Good night.

Now there aren’t any security guards in the art gallery, but there are some robbers in the cupboard.

Robber 1: Shh!

The robbers take three paintings.

Robber 1: You get the Monet. I can take the Picasso. Al, you get the Dali.
Robber 2: OK.
Robber 3: Yes, boss.

In the morning the robbers phone the police.

Robber 1: In the art gallery there’s a map to help you find the paintings.
Policeman: Huh?

Policeman: Here’s the map! Now let’s see ... Go down the steps to the zebra crossing.

Policeman: Cross the road and go past the cinema to the traffic lights.Policeman: Turn right at the traffic lights and go straight ahead to the football stadium.Policeman: Turn right at the stadium and right again into the park. Go through the gates and cross the park.Policeman: Wait a minute! Where am I?

Policeman: I’m at the art gallery again. The paintings are in the toilets?

The paintings are in a tube behind the toilet with a note.
Policeman: We don’t want the paintings. We hope you like the tour.This time we got three paintings. Next time it might be four!

Newspaper: Bad robbers teach art gallery a lesson.

Sophie: Oh no … I've got Maths at nine o'clock.

And Sophie's late for Maths.
Teacher: You're late, Sophie. Sit down.
Sophie: How do you go to school, Mona?
Mona: By car.

When Sophie goes to school by car, the car breaks down.
Sophie: Oh no … I've got English at nine o'clock.

And Sophie's late for English.
Teacher: You're late, Sophie. Sit down.
Sophie: How do you go to school, Tom?
Tom: By motorbike.

When Sophie goes to school by motorbike, the motorbike breaks down.
Sophie: Oh no … I've got History at nine o'clock.

And Sophie’s late for History.
Teacher: You're late, Sophie. Sit down.
Sophie: How do you go to school, Molly?
Molly: I walk.

And when Sophie walks to school … she's early.
Sophie: Good morning, Miss. Look! I'm early.
Teacher: Good morning, Sophie. Yes, you're early …

Teacher: But there's no school today. It's Saturday.
Sophie: Oh no!

The fox is at the shops. He sees the chicken.
Mr Fox: Hmm! Chicken soup.
Miss Chicken: Oh no! It's Mr Fox!

The chicken has got lots of vegetables.
Mr Fox: Hello, Miss Chicken. Ooh! Vegetables. I like vegetables and I love vegetable soup. Delicious chicken and vegetable soup!

Mr Fox: Can I come for dinner, Miss Chicken?
Miss Chicken: Er … Well, OK, Mr Fox, but you can make the soup. I hate cooking.

That evening, the fox goes to the chicken's house.
Miss Chicken: Good evening, Mr Fox. Please come in.
Mr Fox: Good evening, Miss Chicken. Let's start the soup.

Miss Chicken: OK, wash the potatoes and I can put them in the pot.
Mr Fox: OK, Miss Chicken. Now what?

Miss Chicken: Cut the carrots and I can put them in the pot.
Mr Fox: OK, Miss Chicken. Now what?

Miss Chicken: Peel the onions and I can put them in the pot.
Mr Fox: OK, Miss Chicken. Right, the vegetable soup is ready. Great! Let’s eat.

Miss Chicken: Wait a minute! Please have a bath, Mr Fox.
Mr Fox: I don't like baths.
Miss Chicken: I'm sorry, in my house we have a bath before dinner.
Mr Fox: Er … Well, OK, Miss Chicken.

Mr Fox: Ooh! It's nice and hot. A nice hot bath before nice hot chicken soup.
It’s getting very hot. What's this? A carrot! Potatoes!
Oh no! Fox soup! I'm off!

Mr Fox: HELP!

Miss Chicken: He likes chicken soup, but he doesn't like fox soup! See you later, Mr Fox.

This is Vamp the Vampire. He’s got no teeth … not one!
Vamp: I’m very sad!

Vamp goes to bed early at six o’clock.
Vamp: I’ve got no teeth and no friends.

Vamp gets up late and has breakfast at eleven o’clock … alone.
Vamp: Yuck! I don’t like porridge.

He has lunch at one o’clock ... alone. He has vegetable soup.
Vamp: Yuck! I don’t like soup.

He goes to the shops at four o’clock … and buys more soup!
Vamp: Can I have some vegetable soup, please?
Shopkeeper: Soup again, Vamp!

One day he goes to the shop and sees something incredible!
Vamp: What lovely teeth!

Now Vamp goes to a party every night.
Vera: I like your teeth, Vamp!

And he goes to bed late.
Vamp: Wow! I like my teeth! I’m happy now.
