MY TRIP CLIMBING THE "MONTGÓ"
Hi
Mary, I’m Charlie from class 6 A.
This
news is about my trip climbing “ THE MONTGÓ “.
Last
Sunday I climbed the Montgó. It's 753 m. high.
It’s in Jávea.
It’s in Jávea.
We
started the route at 9:00 from Jesús Poble to Jávea.
We were 12 people. I was the youngest with 11 years and the oldest was 60 years old!!
That trip is the most difficult that I did.
When I climbed the Montgó and I was there, there were some beautiful views.
From the top of the mountain I can see Ibiza!!
In this photo I can touch the top of the mountain with my fingers.
I WAS VERY LUCKY!!!!!
The surfist needs to go but he's in the photo. LOOK!!!
The way down was more difficult and scary.
There
were some big rocks in the way.
At
the end we walked for about 6 hours. Ufff!!!
I was VERY
tired, but we celebrated it eating a great paella at the beach.
SEE
YOU!
BY CHARLIE ALONSO FROM 6-A.

MAY DAY
The month of May has many traditions and celebrations in many cultures. Some countries in Europe (Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden and Romania) and North America (Canada and the United States) have special spring celebrations.
Originally May Day was celebrated on 1st May, but for the convenience of the general public, many May Day activities have now been moved to the new May Day holiday on the first Monday of the month. This Monday is a bank holiday, a day off school and work in the United Kingdom.
MAY QUEEN
The May Queen is a girl who rides or walks at the front of a parade for May Day celebrations. She wears a white long dress to symbolise purity and a flowers crown.
It's a popular dance. Some of the children dance in one direction while others dance the opposite way around the pole. They hold a coloured ribbon in their hand.
This is the beautiful result of expert dancers and lots of practice.
MORRIS DANCING
It's an old traditional dance. There are usually six or eight men or women arranged in two lines or in a circle. The dancing is accompanied by accordion players or drums. Morris dancers wear different clothes depending on the part of the country in which they dance. They are often dressed in white with coloured belts across their chests.

STORY: THE THREE BROTHERS (BS 6 UNIT 1)

In a small mountain village, a wise old man talks to his three sons.
Father: When I die, the wisest son can have the farm.
Brother 3: Who is the wisest son?
Brothers 1 and 2: Me!
Father: Climb the mountain and ask the Buddha.
The brothers climb the mountain.
The big brothers are nasty to the small brother.
Brother 1: I'm older and wiser than you.
Brother 2: I'm stronger and wiser than you.
Soon, they are lost. The oldest brother wants to be leader.
Brother 1: I'm older than you. Let me lead.
The youngest brother climbs a tree. He sees and points to a path. The oldest brother copies him.Brother 1: I can see a path!
But soon, rocks block their path.
Brother 2: I'm stronger than you. Let me move the rocks.
The rocks are too heavy to move. The youngest brother clears a path. The oldest brother copies him.
Brother 1: I can clear a path!
It is night time and the brothers are hungry.
Brother 2: I'm faster than you. Let me catch a rabbit.
He returns with no rabbit. The youngest brother makes a
vegetable stew.
Brother 1: I'm bigger than you. Let me finish the stew.
The next day, a bear blocks their path.
Brother 1: I'm braver than you. Let me fight the bear.
The bear stands up and roars. The oldest brother runs away. But the youngest brother plays sad music. The bear sleeps and the brothers escape.
Finally, they reach the Buddha.
Brother 1: He’s younger than me. Let me speak.
Brother 2: No, he’s weaker than me. Let me speak.
Buddha: I'm the Buddha. Let ME speak. The wisest brother is listening.
Father: When I die, the wisest son can have the farm.

He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, a town near Birmingham (England, UK) en 1564. He was the third of eight children. His father was a prosperous merchant. He was a poet, dramatist and actor. He wrote poems, comedies, tragedies, romance, historical plays...

Sophia: Hi!
Abby: Today our topic is …
Sophia: Food and drink.
Beans on Toast
Abby: Beans on toast is a popular British snack
Sophia: How do you make it?
Abby: You need some bread, some butter, and very important: a tin of beans
Sophia: Beans?
Abby: These are beans in tomato sauce
Sophia: What utensils do you need?
Abby: You need a saucepan, a toaster, a knife and a wooden spoon.
Sophia: You’ll also need a tin-opener Abby!
Abby: Oh, oops!
Abby: OK. Open the tin. Be careful!
Abby: Put the beans in the saucepan, turn on the gas and stir.
Sophia: Now the toast. Put the bread in the toaster…one…two!
Abby: It’s on!
One minute later…
Sophia: Yay! Here’s the toast.
Abby: Now for some butter.
Sophia: Look, the beans are ready. Put the beans on the toast.
Abby: Here you are. What do you think?
Sophia: Delicious! I love beans on toast.
Does Sophia like beans on toast?
Cup of Tea
Abby: Tea is a very British drink. British people drink one hundred and sixty-five million cups of tea a day.
Sophia: Wow! How do you make it?
Abby: You need some water, two teabags, and some milk and sugar.
Sophia: What utensils do you need?
Abby: You need a mug, a kettle, a teapot and a teaspoon.
Abby: Watch. First put the water in the kettle. It’s on.
One minute later …
Sophia: And now?
Abby: Put two teabags in the teapot. One … two!
Sophia: And the water?
Abby: Put the water in the teapot. Be careful it’s hot!
Abby: Put some milk in the mug. Do you like sugar, Sophia?
Sophia: Oh yes, three teaspoons please.
Abby: Three?! One…two…three. And now the tea.
Sophia: Is it ready?
Abby: Yes – look. Pour, and stir. Here you are: the perfect cup of tea. Oh! Very important: a biscuit.
Sophia: Oh, thank you, Abby!
Abby: Do you like it?
Sophia: Hmm I don’t like the tea but I like the biscuits. Can I have another one, please?
Abby: Ugh!
What biscuits does Sophia eat?
