SONG: SPRING IS HERE

I can see a rainbow,
I can hear the bees,
I can feel the wind,
Spring is here!
I can see the butterflies,
I can hear the frogs,
I can feel the sun,
Spring is here!
Goodbye winter, hello spring,
A new start for everything,
Goodbye snow, hello sun,
Letʼs go outside and have some fun.
I can see the cherry trees,
I can hear the birds,
I can smell the flowers,
Spring is here!
I have a runny nose,
I have itchy eyes,
I have hay fever,
Spring is here! ACHOO!!!
Goodbye winter, hello spring,
A new start for everything,
Goodbye snow, hello sun,
Letʼs go outside and have some fun,
Letʼs go outside and have some fun,
Letʼs go outsiiiiiiiiide, and have some FUN!

SEASONS SONG

 My favourite season is autumn.
I like the different colours of the leaves.
They turn to beautiful tones of yellow, orange, red and brown.
It's not very hot or cold, but warm.
And there's another reason too: my birthday is in autumn!

Which is your favourite season? Why?

SUMMER SONG

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime,
Don't know a 'funner' time!
Just let the sunshine shine!
This season's so divine!
Sum-sum-summertime,
Don't know a 'funner' time!
This season's yours and mine!

The one after spring,
The one before fall,
Summer's the season,
I like best of all...
I like to swim,
Come and jump right in,
Watch the plants grow,
Don't think about the snow...
I like the bees,
Pollinating the trees,
I love the summer time...

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

The one after spring,
The one before fall,
Birds are back north,
I can hear them all call,
Every thing's alive,
Like the flying butterflies,
The leaves are glowing green,
Frogs are swimming in the stream,
I'm feeling really great,
The sun's out really late!
I love the summer time...

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

Between spring and fall,
And that's not all,
The hottest days of the year...
When it's summer in places,
North of the equator,
It's winter in the southern hemisphere!
Between spring and fall,
And that's not all,
Longest days of the year...
When it's summer in places,
North of the equator,
It's winter in the southern hemisphere!

Well it's sum-sum-sum-summertime...

GOODBYE SUMMER. HELLO AUTUMN!

Today is 23rd September! Summer is over. Autumn starts.
In the USA, people don't say AUTUMN. They say FALL.
AUTUMN= FALL

dkredfastfactscreambkg.gif
1.  Autumn is one of the four seasons.

2.  It is the transition from Summer into Winter.

3.  The weather also begins to get colder and many plants stop making food. Autumn is the time when deciduous trees shed their leaves.
The leaves change from green to red, orange, yellow or brown before falling.

4.  The Autumnal Equinox (around September 23 in the Northern Hemisphere and March 21 in the Southern Hemisphere) signifies the start of Autumn, and it ends with the Winter Solstice (around December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere and June 21 in the Southern Hemisphere.)

5.  Many animals begin to prepare for the winter by storing food in their nests and dens or fat on their bodies.

6.  In Autumn, there is less sunlight because the days are shorter.

7.  Pumpkins are a big crop during Autumn.  They are used for pies, soups and Jack-o-Lanterns on Halloween.

8.  Many animals begin to grow warmer coats to prepare for the cold weather following Autumn.

9.  In the United States, autumn is a time when Thanksgiving and Halloween are celebrated by many people.

10.  Many crops are harvested in Autumn.

Listen to the rhyme "Falling leaves"

IT'S SUMMER

Today is 21st June. The Summer solstice starts and it marks the first day of the summer season in the northern hemisphere. On this day the Sun reaches its hightest position in the sky. In our city, Valencia (Spain), it will be at exactly 12:51.
The word solstice is from the Latin word “solstitium”, meaning “sun-stopping”, because the point at which the sun appears to rise and set stops and reverses direction after this day.
In the northern hemisphere, (North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, northern Africa), the June solstice day has the longest hours of daylight (the longest day of the year). It is when the sun has reached its nearest point from the equator and marks the first day of summer.
In the southern hemisphere, (Australia, New Zealand, South America, Southern Africa), the June solstice day has the shortest hours of daylight (the shortest day of the year). It is when the sun has reached its furthest point from the equator and marks the first day of winter.
